The Baby Jade Bonsai Tree Stone Landscape Scene combines a living Portulacaria Afra bonsai with a detailed miniature waterside setting.
Imported rocks are washed in acid, cut and cemented to one side of the pot, with an ample well on the opposite side to hold water. A ceramic bridge is cemented to the rocks on either side, a pagolda figurine is added on the stone above the bridge, and a miniature glazed mud fisherman overlooks the water holding a fishing pole and fish.
The planted bonsai is Baby Jade, also known as the Elephant Bush. Native to South Africa, it has pale green leaves that are almost round and about one-third the size of the common Jade plant. Its fleshy trunk, branches, and leaves store water, making it an excellent indoor bonsai tree for home or office.
