Tell me about the stone With a nod to the famously beautiful Asian wood, this Burma Teak limestone is the epitome of natural beauty. Creamy white with a striking teak brown sweeping through each tile, it reminds one of a varnished wood. Its pattern is irregular, with each little tile displaying its own set of characteristics. Some are almost totally pale brown, with only a creamy undertone like an artisan latte coffee, others are ivory with contrasting brown veins sweeping their surface. Totally original - you'll never find another tile like yours in the world and you'll never find another stone as beautiful as Burma Teak.
Whilst limestone is a comparatively soft stone when held up against a granite or slate, it is still incredibly durable. It has been used as a building block for centuries, taking pride of place within the Great Pyramids of Giza, one of the most long-standing structures around.
It is part of a group known as sedimentary stones, created when mineral deposits layer upon one another over a period of thousands of years. The pressure caused by the increasing layers of material causes them to cement together to form a solid rock. It is relatively porous and therefore has a natural susceptibility to staining, however, modern stone sealants can protect it from any immediate issues, providing enough moisture resistance for use in areas of the home such as bathrooms and kitchens.
Tell me about the tile's finish To enhance the colors within the stone, these tiles have been polished. This creates a mirror-shine which bounces light off its surface, brightening the colors, making them even more spectacular. The buffing process removes a large portion of the surface of the stone - but the effect is exquisite. A glossy tile is the ultimate luxury, and while it may require extra attention to keep it looking its best, it cannot be beaten on design and style.

Traditionally a polished finish tile would not be recommended for use as flooring because of its slipperiness when wet. However, a mosaic tile gives enough grip to prevent this danger. It can be used in bathrooms and other low-traffic flooring areas to create a stunning feature element to add design depth to a room.
What overall look will I achieve? The ultimate in luxury design, this Burma Teak limestone will make your home feel like opulence defined. Its wooden-like pattern can be teamed with dark varnished teak and brown accents to highlight its natural design. Pairing it with exposed wood creates the perfect combination of elegance and coziness, difficult to achieve when searching for a high-end look. Its blend of brown and cream is reminiscent of artisanal coffee, sumptuous and rich. However you incorporate it into your home, it will add a touch of warmth and homeliness that you will savor for years to come.
