Tell me about the stone If you're looking for a beautiful Calacatta marble, but have a strict budget, Calacatta Striato is for you. It has that classic white background with swatches of gray throughout, but its subtle pattern means it can be found at a more reasonable price point. Calacatta Marble is one of the most highly desired natural stone in the world, prized for its pure white background and angelic gray wisps. For years it has been the ultimate in luxury interior design, incorporated into super sleek kitchens and bathrooms, giving the stone a contemporary edge.
Calacatta Striato has a highly irregular pattern. There is a variety within each tile that makes it totally unique, there are no two identical slabs in the world. This only adds to its desirability. You'll have your own little piece of Italy in your home with Calacatta Striato.
Marble is a metamorphic rock which is created under a specific set of conditions. There must be the perfect balance of minerals, temperature, and pressure to create such a stunning stone, meaning that no two quarries ever produce the exact same pattern.
It is a porous stone and therefore requires a sealant to protect its surface from stains and moisture. This is a measure that is required on almost all natural stones as it helps to ensure their durability against the stresses of modern daily life.
Marble is relatively heat resistant. It is capable of handling the temperature of a hot pan or styling iron in most situations. On the other end of the spectrum, it can also resist freezing temperatures, making it suitable for exterior applications.

Tell me about the tile's finish A polished surface brings out the best in this magnificent stone. The surface of the tile is ground down until perfectly smooth, it is then buffed until it reveals a glossy, mirror-shine. This emphasizes the colors within the stone so that whites appear brighter and grays are deepened. Any finish other than a polished sheen would do this stone a great injustice.
The reflective surface bounces light around a room. This makes even the smallest of locations feel spacious, just like a mirror. It can be used to create stunning feature walls, sink backsplashes, and floor to ceiling shower tiling. In kitchens, it can be used to create stunning countertops as well as flooring.
Calacatta Striato can be used in hallways, however, heavy footfall can cause the polished surface to dull slightly, so it may need a little maintenance to keep it looking its best.
What overall look will I achieve? Calacatta Striato can be paired with both light and dark features. Add design depth by contrasting it with navy or a rich purple and add metallic accents for a totally modern interior. When paired with light furniture and walls you create a super-chic, sleek design. Just add a deep green houseplant for a touch of eclecticism.
