Tell me about the stone This beautiful Copper Slate tile looks like a gorgeous brushed metal. Primarily red toned, with that classic gray blended right through, it's an exciting take on a traditional stone.
Slate is an incredibly hardwearing rock. It is relatively impervious to moisture, making it a popular choice for functional uses as well as those that are more design focused. Traditionally used for roofing, it is more than capable of weathering the storm. It's known as one of the most durable on the market, great for a busy family environment requiring a tile that can keep up.
It has a metamorphic geology and is formed by relatively low pressures and temperatures just under the earth's surface. It naturally forms into sheets, which are easily cleaved into flat slats. This makes it the perfect stone for tiles.
Tell me about the tile's finish Slate's natural layers make it the ideal stone for a textured finish. This natural cleft face highlight's the stone's rocky attributes, celebrating what makes it such a well-loved interior tile. The stone is cut into flat sheets and then carved to the perfect sized tile. The natural texture of the tile's surface remains, rugged and craggy.
This is a practical finish for flooring because the bumps and ridges in the stone provide traction. Even while wet, a cleft face provides incredible slip resistance. It's also a very hardwearing finish. Unlike more polished surfaces, which can become dull over time, this natural stone effect remains looking its best, even after years of use.
The back of the tile is gauged flat to allow for uniform application. This makes it suitable for use inside the home as well as for exterior patios and garden walls.
