The Dawn Redwood 9 Tree Forest Group is a true redwood, Metasequoia glyptostrobides, from Bonsai Boy. Native to Manchuria China and once thought extinct, it was rediscovered in the 1940's.
Introduced in the U.S. in 1948, this living fossil has more lacey foliage than our native redwood. It is deciduous, so in fall the light green sprays turn yellow, then bronze, and fall off.
Keep outdoors.
