The FHC Carolina Beveled 5 Degree Positive Close Offset Back Plate Wall Mount Hinge is a heavy-duty glass-to-wall hinge designed for tempered or tempered/laminated glass.
It is built for 3/8"-1/2" glass and features a reversible 5 Deg Pivot Pin for jobs that need a positive closing position. The hinge is factory set at 90 degrees for normal door closing applications, and the secondary pivot pin setting can be field adjusted to allow an additional 5 degrees of closing. It is self-centering within 15 Degrees of Closing Position and is commonly used in Residential Bath and Commercial Hotel Applications.
Material/Construction: Solid Brass with HD S/S Back Plate. Available variant options include Oil Rubbed Bronze, Brushed Nickel, Polished Chrome, and Matte Black. Replacement Screws PS102 and PS103 are available as needed, and the hinge can be used with Hinge Limit Plates HLP25 and HLP40.
Glass specifications: 3/8" (10 mm) glass approx. 5 lb./ft²; 1/2" (12 mm) glass approx. 6.4 lb./ft². Maximum door capacity using 2 hinges is 110 LBS (50 kg) at 36" (914 mm) door width; using 3 hinges is 140 LBS. (64 kg) at 36" (914 mm) door width. Do not exceed either maximum weight or width when choosing proper quantity of hinges.
For 3/8" (10 mm) glass, use one thick gasket on each side. For 1/2" (12 mm) glass, use one thin gasket on each side. Only use tempered safety glass, and do not use power tools during installation.
