Metal washers cover defects around the holes drilled in glass, and plastic washers provide a cushion between the glass and metal. Cleaning Your Glass Simple Hardware
Dry hardware after use to minimize water spots and other discoloration. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaning agents, scrub brushes, etc. as these will damage the finish. Use a mild mixture of gentle liquid soap and water and test on an inconspicuous part of the hardware first.
