Tell me about the stone One of the first things that strikes you is Golden Sienna's welcoming mix of earthy colors. Sandy browns flow among comforting creams, while dashes of gray creep through to create a demure charm. It isn't just the rich blend of colors that'll catch your eye though, it's also the non-uniform makeup of each tile. This individual mottled appearance ensures each tile boasts its own unique character.
The stone itself, travertine, is a form of limestone normally deposited by particularly fast-flowing mineral springs. Fortunately, it is built to last, demonstrated by the fact it was used to build some of the largest and longest-standing buildings, including Rome's Colosseum. Its hard-wearing nature makes it ideal for use in heavy traffic areas, such as bustling family kitchens. We recommended sealing travertine upon installation to ensure the stone's longevity and protection against staining. With the proper care and attention, travertine can last for years. This makes it a great investment for your home or business.
Tell me about the tile's finish Golden Sienna Travertine tiles have a honed finish, achieved by grinding the stone down until all bumps and ridges have gone. The result is a sleek and contemporary matte effect. Unlike a polished finish, this satin-like surfaces ensure scratches and marks are less obvious to the naked eye. At the same time, the lack of ridges means the tile will catch less dirt and grit, reducing the need for frequent cleaning, unlike some other finishes.
From a longevity perspective, the honed finish offers another plus, as the matte effect won't fade and dull over time. So while your bathtub and sink may look worn and aged, your honed Golden Sienna Travertine tiles will still look modern and well-kept. Finally, the honed surface offers a more practical advantage as it promises better traction, making it ideal for use on a bathroom floor, for example.
