Tell me about the stone With its warm and inviting golden hue and natural stony mottled pattern, Jerusalem Gold limestone is the ultimate elegant tiling solution. It has a subtle irregular pattern of blended cream and golds. In this way, each tile is totally unique. Just like a fingerprint, no two stones will ever be identical. Despite this, the overall effect is a consistently golden color.
Limestone is formed when layers of sediment build up over a period of time. These layers eventually cement together to form solid rock, with beautiful soft coloring. It is a naturally soft stone, with a slightly porous surface, therefore to protect it against stains and moisture damage it will need sealing with a proper stone protectant. Despite this, Jerusalem Gold is incredibly durable. It can be used in almost any location throughout the interior, including hallways and kitchens that are likely to see high levels of traffic. It can even be used for exterior applications and makes the ideal backyard patio or front porch.
Tell me about the tile's finish This tile has a honed finish, creating a stunning contemporary style stone. The surface of the tile has been ground down until it is smooth and silk-like. The overall effect is a matte, satin surface, which softens the light in a room making it appear subtle and warm.
Whilst design is one of the primary benefits of a honed finish, it is also incredibly functional. There is little maintenance involved with a matte surface, as there is an innate dullness to the stone that does not require further polishing. This makes it great for those who have a busy lifestyle and require a low upkeep solution.

In comparison to polished stone, it also has a higher degree of traction. The surface has sufficient grip to prevent slipping in most cases, meaning it is suitable for areas of the home that can become wet. Bathrooms, entrance halls, and porches are no match for this practical tile.
What overall look will I achieve? Jerusalem Gold is a classic limestone with a warm color palette. But the subtlety in its design means it can be paired with a variety of interiors from country modern to opulent traditionalism. In a bathroom setting, you can create a luxury interior that calms the senses, leaving you feeling totally relaxed. Add a roll-top cast iron bathtub, brushed gold faucets and rich colored walls and you'll have the perfect tranquil design.
If you're looking for a stone that will blend seamlessly from one room to the next, Jerusalem Gold is ideal. The neutral tones work perfectly with changing colors and patterns throughout the home. Take it from a soft pastel colored kitchen, duck egg blue or sage green cabinets, to a rich and luxuriant royal purple in the dining room, and a bright white in the downstairs bathroom, its versatility is endless.
