Tell me about the stone Kokomo Gold Light sandstone is the paler, creamier cousin of its famous Kokomo Gold counterpart. Its soft hues are like a yellow sandy desert or beautiful tropical beach, slightly golden, with a sun-kissed look about them. This is a fine-grained stone, therefore there are no contrasting veins running starkly through the stone's surface. Instead what you get is a consistent light gold color throughout the tile. There may be some slight tonal variations, adding to the stone's natural charm, but the overall effect is a reliable design.
Just like all classic sedimentary stones, sandstone is created by layers of minerals depositing over time. Their build-up eventually leads to changes in temperature and pressure conditions which cause the silt to cement to form a solid rock. It is a durable stone that has been used in construction for centuries. In your home, you can rest assured that a sandstone tile is a great investment. With due care and attention, they can last for decades.
If you're looking for a natural stone that will bring warmth and vibrancy to your outside area, there's nothing more suitable than Kokomo Gold Light sandstone. It makes the perfect tile for a porch, driveway, or backyard patio, giving your home the curb appeal you're after.
Tell me about the tile's finish With a natural cleft face, Kokomo Gold Light sandstone's organic texture is retained. This finish is not really created, but instead, it is curated. The stone is cut into the correct size and shape, but its natural cragginess is left as it is. This ensures it retains its rugged texture, adding to that totally organic rocky feel.
But there is more to this finish than the exquisite design potential, it also comes with numerous practical benefits. Firstly, the durability of a natural cleft face is superior to many of the other options available. Part of the tile's charm is its earthy, rustic texture, therefore wear and tear will not deteriorate the stone's design but will, in fact, add to its character. There is no need for regular maintenance in the form of polishing or refining, just leave the stone to its natural devices.

Furthermore, if you're looking for a stone for external applications, you'll need something that will not become slippery when it is wet. This is where a natural cleft face is ideal. The textured surface provides sufficient grip, making it perfect for outside flooring.
