Tell me about the stone Relaxed and earthy, Kota Brown limestone is the perfect choice for a natural looking environment. Its green-brown face is muddy-hued with a strong mossy undertone, creating a stone that looks totally at one with nature. It has a mottled effect which gives the stone a rustic charm. While each tile is totally unique, with its own original shade and pattern, the overall effect is a consistent color with no harsh veins or crystals.
Kota Brown is known for its perfect balance of durability with a reasonable price point. Therefore, it's a great option for those who require a value for money solution. It is perfectly hardwearing, making it suitable for most applications throughout the home. It can be used in hallways, kitchens, and bathrooms, but also works as an exterior tile on porches, patios, and driveways.
Tell me about the tile's finish To complement the stone's earthy color palette, this tile has a natural cleft face - a rough textured surface that is totally unrefined. It is the natural texture of the stone after it has been carved and shaped and cannot be created by processing. It retains the bumps, grooves, and ridges that make up the stone's face, giving it a totally rugged look. This is great for those wanting a tile that will blend in with an exterior environment, or for those wanting a rustic effect.
But the benefits don't stop there. A natural cleft face also carries a number of functional benefits. For example, it requires little upkeep to maintain its effect. The stone is created imperfect, the results of nature's work, therefore any wear and tear will only add to this wild and rugged effect. If used outside, you may wish to clean it with a power washer on occasion to remove dirt and grime. Inside the home, a pH neutral cleanser should be sufficient to maintain its look.

Furthermore, the textured surface ensures the tile has sufficient traction. The natural cleft face provides enough grip to prevent trips and slips in most situations.
The back of the stone is also left with its natural face. This means there can be a slight variation in thickness between the tiles, however, with careful installation, this can create perfectly level flooring.
What overall look will I achieve? Kota Brown is ideal for creating a rugged yet contemporary look. In your kitchen, pair it with white, matte, shaker style cabinets and white walls for a sleek and stylish look. Add metallic accents to contrast the nature-inspired flooring.
Outside the home, your backyard patio will feel totally serene, blending in with its surroundings like it's been there for years. Don't forget to add a splattering of potted foliage and your favorite outside furniture for a functional and relaxing space.
