Tell me about the stone A rich red-brown, just like its namesake, these Mahogany Sandstone tiles and pavers will give your home a touch of summer heat. They have a very consistent coloring, with only minimal variation between each tile, making them one of our most reliable stones.
Sandstone is a classic sedimentary rock formed over thousands of years. The stone's history begins as particles of sand settle to the ground and layer upon one another. Over time, these layers cement together under the increasing pressure, causing the solid rock known as sandstone.
This beautifully soft looking stone has been used in construction and design for generations. It is sturdy enough to be used as the building blocks of some of our most famous structures, but just as frequently, it is used to give homes and outside areas a natural look. Sandstone can be used to create patios, porches, and driveways and can even be used in areas where there is a strong likelihood of frost. It is capable of resisting freeze-thaw conditions, so you'll never have to worry about that cold wintery snap.
Tell me about the tile's finish Embracing sandstone's natural texture is perhaps the best way to view this rugged stone, and is definitely one of the most popular. These tiles have a natural cleft face, the original texture of Mahogany Sandstone once it has been carved from the earth. This craggy surface is full of bumps and grooves, beautiful rises and falls that give the stone character.
The edges of the stones are also rugged, but they are cut to a straight, level edge, making uniform installation a breeze.

A natural cleft face is a practical tiling solution, benefitting from a number of functional advantages. For example, the textured surface provides a superior level of grip, making it suitable for external locations that will often become wet. A more refined tile can feel slippery under these conditions, so if you want peace of mind, a natural cleft face is ideal.
Furthermore, as an intentionally irregular finish, a natural cleft face benefits from low maintenance. There are no further refinement processes, and wear and tear will not damage the stone's effect but instead will add to its rustic nature.
What overall look will I achieve? Mahogany Sandstone tiles will help you achieve a warm and inviting space where ever they are laid. Whether you're looking to create a sturdy patio or driveway, or a rustic country kitchen, these tiles will help you build a natural look.
