Tell me about the stone Marsala Extra limestone is a beautiful ivory beige. A gorgeous neutral with a slightly mottled pattern that gives the tile its natural stone charm. There is a mild gray veining that can be seen across each stone. While the color is consistent throughout, there is a slight variation in the stone's pattern, therefore no two tiles are identical. Marsala Extra can be used to create the perfect base for almost any design, its neutral color palette suiting a wide variety of styles.
Limestone is created by the depositing of minerals and tiny sea creatures at the bottom of a body of water. Over time, layers build up until the pressure cements these sediments to form a solid rock. For this reason, there can often be minuscule fossils captured within limestone, dotted throughout the tile's surface.
Limestone is an incredibly hardwearing stone which has been used to creating longstanding structures for centuries. Most famously perhaps, the Great Pyramids of Giza were made from a type of limestone, one of the most ancient constructions still in existence today. Therefore, your kitchen floor, bathroom wall, or countertop are no match for this durable stone.
Tell me about the tile's finish These Marsala Extra limestone tiles have been honed. This is a process which removes all bumps, ridges, and imperfections, leaving behind a totally smooth, satin-effect tile. This is a great finish if you're looking to add a slightly contemporary edge to your design. The matte surface softens the light in your home, making it feel cozy and warm.
A honed finish also boasts a number of functional benefits, as well as beautiful design. It makes a practical flooring solution as it has slightly more traction than a more refined, polished look. The tile is less likely to feel slippery underfoot, making it suitable for flooring in entrance halls, bathrooms, and kitchens.

In addition to this, it's also much more durable than some of the other finishes on the market. The matte finish of a honed tile is innately sheen-free and therefore it will not require regular maintenance.
What overall look will I achieve? Marsala Extra limestone has a warm neutral color palette, giving it incredible design versatility. Create a warm and inviting kitchen floor that will work with both modern and contemporary kitchen cupboards. Go for a sage green color pairing to keep your interior light and airy, while adding a dash of color. In your bathroom, go for a floor to ceiling wall tile with a traditional roll top cast iron bath to create a sumptuous interior you'll never want to leave.
