Limestone is a highly valued natural stone, prized for its versatile color palette and incredible quality. It's a seriously durable material that is often used for flooring but is suitable for a vast array of applications. It begins life as tiny fragments of sediment within a body of water such as a lake or ocean. Over time, these minerals layer up and the pressure above cements them together to form a hardened rock.
Limestone has long been used for building construction because of its hardwearing nature. In fact, the Great Pyramids of Giza were famously comprised of limestone blocks - some of the most ancient structures still in existence today. Therefore, there is no doubt that whatever you have in mind for Oasis Gold, whether it's a hallway, bathroom, or kitchen floor, or just simply a subtle wall or backsplash, it is more than capable of the job.
Tell me about the stone's finish Complementing the stone's delicate color palette, these tiles have a honed finish. This is a matte effect that is created by grinding the stone until is it totally smooth and completely level. All of the stone's natural texture is removed, revealing a silky soft, satin-like stone. The surface appears dull and muted, creating a beautiful warming effect in a room as it softens the light. This is a great finish for those looking for a refined, yet understated design.

A honed finish also comes with a number of practical benefits that make it such a popular choice. Firstly, it's a relatively durable finish and therefore requires less maintenance than some of the other options on the market. For example, the innately dull surface does not need a regular polishing to keep it looking its best, and its lack of texture means it is easily cleaned. Dirt and grime do not get stuck in grooves and cracks, so the tile can be kept a beautiful ivory color with only a regular clean with a pH neutral cleanser.
Furthermore, compared to a glossy tile, a honed finish has a little more traction, making it much more suitable for flooring throughout the home. The matte effect offers a slight grip, giving the stone a functional edge not afforded by some tiles.
What overall look will I achieve? Oasis Gold's beautiful neutral color palette and muted finish creates an elegant and classy base for a wide array of designs. Whether you're looking to create a relaxed, country-inspired design, with painted wood and cozy soft furnishings, or a sleek high-end look, this limestone is ideal.
