This Peruvian Painted Glass Serpentine Mirror is a hand carved reverse painted glass mirror made in Peru. It is a beautiful accent mirror with sienna, gold, and silver detail.
The mirror measures 48" wide and 71" tall. It features rich varying sienna and gold tones that create depth and contrast, along with an angled and multi reflective design, silvered mirror corners, and a carved serpentine design carved frame.
The technique behind this piece comes from an art form developed hundreds of years ago in the small villages of the Andes mountains. The artists used indigenous vegetable and plant based colors, later enhanced by backing the painting panels with gold and silver leaf foils. This mirror is part of the Santa Lucia Collection.
