The Pin Oak Bonsai Tree ('Quercus Palustris') is a deciduous bonsai tree from Bonsai Boy and is native to North America.
Pin Oak leaves have 5 or 7 pointed lobes, and each lobe has 5-7 bristle-tipped teeth. The sinuses are typically u-shaped and extremely deep cut, with approximately the same amount of air filled area as actual leaf area.
The acorns are borne in a shallow, thin cap and are bitter. This is a great tree for bonsai and should be kept outdoors as a deciduous tree.
