Restorers 4 Inch Iron Trunk Hasp adds a finished, period-correct look to primitive chests and trunks. It is hand crafted and designed for replacement use on antique originals or authentic re-creations.
This iron/bronze hasp is offered in Rusted Iron, Raw Cast Iron, Oil Blackened, Black Powder Coat, and Weathered Bronze finishes. Mounting hardware is included. Overall dimensions are 1 3/8" Width x 4" Height.
Details include a short leaf of 1 3/8" Width x 7/8" Height, a long leaf of 1 3/8" Width x 2 5/8" Height, a barrel of 1 3/8" x 1/2", a slot opening of approximately 1" Height, a hasp opening width of 7/16", a hasp thickness of 1/8", and a loop projection of 7/8". This hasp will hinge at 90 degrees, so the mounting bracket can sit on the top of the trunk while the slotted leaf hangs on the face.
Oil Blackened is raw iron coated with oil; the oil will wear and expose the iron beneath, which will rust. Rust is raw iron that has been oxidized and will continue to rust over time. Black Powder Coat is a baked-on finish that is virtually maintenance free and more glossy than Oil Blackened. Weathered Bronze is made from solid cast bronze and will continue to age and patina over time.
