This Restorers heart gate latch set pairs a decorative heart latch with a thumblatch handle for a rustic gate. The latch measures 2" x 5 3/4" and fits gates up to 2 1/2" thick. Matching mounting hardware is included. Hand-forged items may vary slightly; variations in size and finish should be expected.
Finish choices listed are Black Powder Coat, Oil Blackened, Rusty Iron and Weathered Bronze. The Rust finish is raw iron that has been oxidized; it will continue to rust over time and may rub off. Furniture wax or clear coat sealant can preserve it.
Black Powder Coat is a baked-on, permanent finish that is virtually maintenance free and shinier than Oil Blackened. Oil Blackened is raw iron coated with oil; as the oil wears, the iron beneath is exposed and will rust. Left unsealed, this finish can erode or rub off; furniture wax or clear coat sealant can help prevent this.
