Tell me about the stone The perfect light gray, Sea Grass limestone is the contemporary tile you've been searching for. With its fairly consistent coloring, lack of contrasting veins, and minimal pattern and variation, it provides the perfect subtle backdrop for your modern and sleek interior.
Limestone is created by mineral deposits within a body of water. Over time, these layers build upon one another, creating an increase in pressure that cements the sediments together, forming a hard stone. Amongst mineral sediments, there are fragments of aquatic animals and shells that also become trapped within the stone. This is an effect unique to limestone, where tiny fossils can often be seen throughout its surface - particularly visible in Sea Grass limestone.
Limestone, in general, is known for being a durable and hardwearing stone. In the past, it has been used to create some of the world's most longstanding structures, including the Great Pyramids of Giza. Therefore, this gorgeous stone is suitable for a vast array of applications, including kitchen and hallway flooring, where there is likely to be a heavier degree of traffic.
You may wish to seal your limestone upon application. It has a slightly porous surface, and therefore this protective layer will stave of stains and moisture damage.
Tell me about the tile's finish Famous for its creamy coloring, a honed limestone is perhaps the most popular finish available. The grinding process creates a matte surface which is highly desired. Where a polished finish is reflective and can often create harsh lighting, a honed finish softens the light in a room, leaving it with an understated, warm glow.

But the benefits of this satin-like texture are by no means restricted to its design. A honed finish comes with a number of practical benefits. For example, it is a fairly low maintenance solution. Where a more refined finish may require a regular buff and polish, a honed finish is intentionally lackluster. Therefore, wear and tear only add to the stone's effect.
Furthermore, a honed finish is much more suited to flooring due to its level of traction. The shinier a floor is, the more slippery it can become, especially when wet. The tile's matte texture provides sufficient slip resistance to make suitable for flooring throughout the home.
What overall look will I achieve? Sea Grass limestone is incredibly versatile. Its consistent coloring, delicate pattern, and natural look make it suitable for a huge number of styles. You can create a sleek, contemporary design by pairing it with white, gray, and glass elements. Alternatively, build a cozy, country-inspired design by incorporating wood and other natural materials.
