Tell me about the stone With its beautiful golden beige hue, St. Marc Jaune limestone looks as if it has been sun-drenched by its native French landscape. Sunny and bright, it will bring an incredible warmth to your home design, lifting your interior to a high-end finish. It has a fairly consistent pattern, with a slight creamy mottled pattern which gives this natural stone its authentic charm. Each tile is totally unique, but the overall effect is a consistent sunny beige.
Limestone is a hardwearing material, suitable for all manner of applications, and St Marc Jaune is no different. This is a quality stone, ideal for flooring in all areas of the home including high traffic areas such as hallways and kitchens.
Limestone, like many natural materials, is slightly porous, therefore it will benefit from a layer of sealant applied to its surface upon application. This will prevent your delicately colored stone from stains and other moisture damage, leading to a longer-lasting, better-looking tile. Limestone is more than capable of lasting for decades if the proper care and attention are given from the outset. This is an investment worth making.
Tell me about the tile's finish These tiles have a honed finish, a gorgeous matte effect that adds to the stone's creamy surface. This is achieved by grinding the tiles until they are smooth to the touch, with any bumps or ridges removed.
It is perhaps the most popular limestone finish, and it's easy to see why. Alongside its understated, relaxed design, it also has a number of functional benefits. For example, a honed tile offers an increased level of traction compared to a polished stone. This makes it suitable for flooring, as it has a sufficient level of slip resistance. Honed tiles are ideal for almost any location throughout the home, including bathrooms that are prone to puddles and dampness.

Furthermore, a honed finish is fairly low maintenance. Wear and tear will not dull the tile's surface, as it is intentionally matte. Therefore, a regular clean and sealant top up are adequate for your stone's upkeep routine.
What overall look will I achieve? There is no doubt that Saint Marc Jaune creates the ultimate in high-end classic interior design. It's perfect for recreating a traditional style and looks great paired with cream shaker cabinets and an elegant stone countertop. In a bathroom, include a traditional white suite with roll top bathtub and free-standing sink for a luxury design that will always be popular.
