Tell me about the stone Our Teakwood Sandstone tiles are perfect for adding a unique design element to your home whilst retaining the elegance and charm of a natural stone. It has a creamy ivory bedrock littered with stunning golden veins that create a wood-like pattern. It has an irregular design, just like authentic teak, giving it the same character as the highly prized natural wood, but with the additional benefits that come with a sturdy sandstone.
Just like many natural stones used for interior decor, sandstone is durable and versatile. It is suitable for a number of locations throughout the home, including flooring and walls, making the perfect kitchen backsplash or entrance hall floor. When properly cared for, Teakwood sandstone can last for decades, retaining its superior design and quality throughout.
This beautiful stone is created by sediment build up over a period of thousands of years. The increasing pressure causes the minerals to cement together, creating a sturdy rock. It is relatively soft and easy to shape, making it ideal for tiles. It is porous, just like most natural stones on the market, and therefore you may want to protect your tiles from stains using a sealant upon installation.
Tell me about the tile's finish These Teakwood Sandstone tiles have a freshly honed finish. This is a gorgeous matte effect that compliments its creamy bedrock, giving the stone the texture of a sumptuous whipped cream.
A honed finish is popular for a number of reasons. This softly refined surface does not harshly reflect the light in the same way as a polished finish but instead creates a delicate warm glow. For those looking to create a cozy and homely design, a honed finish is perfect.

Furthermore, when used for flooring, a honed finish is often preferred to a gloss tile because of the level of traction it affords. Where a more refined tile can feel slippery underfoot, the matte effect provides sufficient slip resistance. Therefore, a honed finish is recommended for bathroom flooring where there is an increased chance of dampness.
