The Titanic Painted Large is a highly detailed wooden ship model from Old Modern Handicrafts, crafted as a scale replica of the famous liner.
It is 100% hand built individually using the plank-on-frame construction method and made from high-grade wood such as western red cedar, rosewood, and mahogany. The model is painted in red, black, and white to represent the original colors of Titanic.
Details include handcrafted wood lifeboats, accurately built riggings, and intricate pieces such as the crane, anchors, stanchions, windows, ladders, steam pipes, and skylight. It also comes with an attached wood base with a brass nameplate.
Titanic was built in March 1909 and launched in May 1911. The ship measured 883 feet long, 92 feet wide, weighed 46,328 tons, stood 104 feet tall from keel to bridge, and could carry over 3500 people. On the night of 14th April 1912 at 11:40 P.M., the historic tragedy began, with 705 lives saved and 1502 lives lost.
