The Tsukomo Cypress Bonsai Tree (Chamaecyparis Pisifera Tsukomo) is a distinctive bonsai native to Japan, known for its scale-like leaves and classic evergreen form.
Its bright green foliage appears in spring and summer, then becomes slightly dull green in fall and winter. Young trees shed their lower branches, revealing reddish-brown bark that peels in long strips. Inner branches often die out, so annual pruning helps encourage new growth.
This bonsai has a round or pyramidal growth habit, is extremely hardy, and grows very slowly, which is part of why it is hard to find. Keep outdoors.
Brand: Bonsai Boy.
