The Wayfarer mattress is made with 100% natural rubber from pure rubber tree sap and has a resilient, medium-firm feel. It is handmade in the USA and described as hypoallergenic and impact-absorbing, helping reduce the feel of a partner’s movement.
The mattress is approximately 7" thick, with a 6" natural rubber core described in the product details. The Dunlop rubber is medium firm, classified as C3 (equivalent to ~32-ILD in Talalay). The natural rubber is described as biodegradable, antimicrobial, mold- and mildew-resistant, temperature-neutral, and as not off-gassing.
The cover is GOTS-certified organic, US-grown cotton twill. The product description specifies a thin, untreated wool layer for fire retardancy, approximately 1.5" around the contents, and says the mattress meets federal fire retardancy regulations without chemical fire retardants. The mattress has been handmade in the USA since 1997.
Size options: Twin (39X75), Twin Xl (39X80), Double (54X75), Queen (60X80), Eastern King (76X80), California King (72X84), and Sample/Cushion (15X15x6). The 15”x15”x6” finished cushion is also described for use as a home decor cushion, Zabuton, or meditation pillow.
