Tell me about the stone With their fine wood-pattern layers, White Wood Marble tiles are a contemporary design dream. Just like ashy silver birch, they have a variegated gray tone that gives this stone an effortlessly chic look. Each tile is unique, with a slightly different pattern, just as nature intended. However, the overall appearance is relatively consistent.
In all four corners of the globe, marble is a sign of wealth and extravagance. This stunning stone is highly prized for its unique beauty, with patterns and colors that are not replicated anywhere else in nature. In fact, throughout history, many famous sculptors have used marble to create their most magnificent designs, including the Italian Renaissance artist, Michelangelo.
However, marble is not restricted to purely artistic functions, it also has incredible durability and therefore has been used to create some of the world's most famous constructions, for example, the Taj Mahal and the Washington Monument. Both of these structures have been around for hundreds of years, giving weight to the claim that marble is both hardwearing and long-lasting.
Tell me about the tile's finish For a delicate and subtle effect, these tiles have been honed. This matte and muted surface is created when the stone is ground down until beautifully smooth. Instead of being buffed, they are left with a satin-like surface, just like that of a whipped cream. A honed finish is ideal for those who want the beauty of marble, but with a finish that is a little more understated and elegant. There is no harsh reflective light created, just a warm, soft glow.
A honed finish also provides a number of functional benefits, especially for those who worry about the practicality of a marble surface. Firstly, it requires less maintenance than a traditionally polished shine because it cannot become dull or patchy over time. A honed finish is intentionally lackluster, and this is its charm, so a regular clean and sealant top up is all that is necessary to keep it looking its best.
